Aviation officials are worried about the morbidity situation in Israel and make it clear that the chance we will be able to fly abroad on August 1 is low.

This week, the president of Cyprus was scheduled to land a meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in order to declare the opening of the skies and announce an agreement that will allow tourists to move between the countries. The Cypriots postponed their arrival in Israel and apparently the sky will not open to Cyprus as early as August.

Last week, Netanyahu announced that we could fly to Greece and Cyprus on August 1, but stressed that the decision on the issue depends on the rate of morbidity in Israel. Since he said, the situation has worsened in terms of the number of infected and previously declared states that they would be happy to have the Israeli tourist withdraw, deliberate and probably not allow us to relax in the area in the near future.

Ukraine announced last week that it would allow Israelis to enter the country without the need for isolation. Following the rise in the rate of infection in Israel, the Ukrainians returned and would not allow Israelis to enter the country.

Georgia has rejected the possibility of Israelis entering the country from mid-June to early July, and there may well be another rejection alongside a demand for corona tests with negative results. Cyprus eliminated the possibility that Israelis could enter its territory without the need of corona testing and lowered us in the ranking, as did Montenegro, which was pleased to welcome the Israeli tourist until a few weeks ago and now Israelis will not be able to enter the country.

While the borders of Europe are opening, Greece, Cyprus and other countries are opening their doors to tourists from many countries around the world, Israelis will probably have to spend the next summer in Israel, and reportedly may also be subject to restrictions.

At the same time, many airlines have already returned to operate in Israel. A large part of the companies returned in early June, with the hope that the sky will open as early as July, now it appears that even in early August there will be no news in the matter and that some companies may take steps to minimize losses on lines to Tel Aviv.
