A senior medical doctor in Italy claims that the virus changes over time and becomes at least fatal than in the past • "90-80 year-old patients, who died soon after, are currently surviving the disease"

"The corona virus is increasingly weakened and will die of itself without the need for a vaccine," a senior Italian doctor says in a northern Italy hospital. "If you used to act like an aggressive tiger - it's like a wild cat today."

The person responsible for this optimistic but controversial statement is Prof. Matteo Besti, senior physician and director of the Infectious Diseases Department at San Martino Hospital in Genoa, a northern Italian city. According to him, the corona virus changes over time in terms of the severity of its attack, and this is evidence that patients today survive the disease in situations where they would have passed away some time ago.

Professor Bestie addressed the morbidity in Italy, saying that in recent months there has been an improvement in the ability of patients in his country to cope with the virus than at the beginning of the outbreak of the corona epidemic. In addition, he also suggests that the ability to better cope with the virus is also linked to improving the quality of adhesive treatment, and to social remoteness - which leads to a better coping ability with the corona than before.

In an interview with the Sunday Telegraph, Bestie said: "Even 80-90-year-olds are better coping with the corona virus a day. Those patients might have died in two to three days, but that's not the case at the moment." He added that "one possibility of a reduction in the deadly level of the virus is that it has undergone a mutation that has made it less destructive for human lungs."

If Professor Bestie's claims are true, humanity may not need a vaccine against the virus. However, it should be noted that quite a few scientists disagree with Bestie's claim that there is no evidence that the virus has undergone any change over time.
