Coronavirus in France: 57 new deaths in total, 29,720 dead since March

In the last 24 hours, 57 new deaths linked to Covid-19 have been recorded in total in France, announced the Directorate General of Health (DGS) on Tuesday.

A total of 29,720 deaths have been reported in the country since March 1, including 19,232 in hospitals (+27) and 10,488 in social and medico-social establishments such as nursing homes.

The figures for the latter had not been updated since Tuesday, June 16. In one week, an additional 31 deaths were recorded.

In the intensive care units, the decline in the number of patients continues, with 682 people hospitalized in these services dedicated to serious cases, against 701 Monday. However, 15 new patients have been admitted in the past 24 hours.

A total of 9,491 patients are currently hospitalized after being infected with SARS-CoV-2 and 117 new admissions were recorded in 24 hours.
