Istat, prices slightly up in June + 0.1% on the month, -0.2% on the year

In June 2020, the national consumer price index for the whole community (NIC), gross of tobaccos, recorded an increase of 0.1% on a monthly basis and a decrease of 0.2% on an annual basis ( as in the previous month). Istat notes this on the basis of preliminary estimates.
    Istat explains that it is the product of opposing forces that determines the increase in inflation for the second consecutive month: deflationary pressures coming from the prices of energy goods (-12.1%) and rising prices of food goods, for home and personal care (+ 2.3%).
    Core inflation, albeit slightly slowing, is therefore confirmed positive (+ 0.7%). (HANDLE).
