ANMAT has banned the sale of another brand of alcohol gel, amid the coronavirus pandemic

The National Administration of Medicines, Food and Medical Technology (ANMAT) has banned a brand of alcohol gel , amid the coronavirus pandemic. In addition, the agency warned about two grocery brands: one for flour and one for salami.

In recent months, ANMAT had already ordered measures against alcohol and alcohol gel brands , for different irregularities. This Wednesday, through a provision that appeared in the Official Gazette, he incorporated a new company.

The entity prohibited the use and commercialization of the product "PROGEL Alcohol in gel- Chemical GMD- Argentine Industry- Professional use: neutral product specially formulated to be used in hand disinfection. The order affects all the presentations and net contents of the product.

ANMAT banned the marketing of another brand of alcohol gel.

ANMAT described the product as "illegitimate" , since its label contains non-truthful information . "Its origin and effective composition are unknown, and therefore its quality, safety and efficacy cannot be guaranteed," the agency added.

"Due to the aforementioned and taking into account the current context regarding the use given to this type of products, which is intended for hand hygiene and sanitization, the situation results in a risk to the health of the population" , the Administration warned.

In other provisions, the entity prohibited the marketing of a brand of wheat flour and one of salami.

It is, first of all, the  "Wheat flour type 000 brand Guapa, Alimentos Paberfra SA, parcel 33 of fraction I, Parque Industrial Pergamino, RNE, N ° 02-0333.789, RNPA N ° 02-50002" and the "Bonita brand type 000 wheat flour, Alimentos Paberfra SA, parcel 33 of fraction I, Pergamino Industrial Park, RNE, N ° 02-0333.789, RNPA N ° 02-50002".

The measure is due to the fact that the company lacks "establishment and product registers", has "food products outside authorized establishments" and, in addition, the products are "falsely labeled when registering the establishment register of another company name" .

The other edible whose commercialization was prohibited is "Coarse minced salami, La Técnica brand, prepared by Claudio Pérez, RNE Nº21-024237, RNPA Nº 21-0656526". The measure extends to "all products whose label indicates the RNE N ° 21-024237 and RNPA N ° 21-0656526".

In this case, the firm "lacks authorization for establishment, product and for being falsely labeled when declaring non-existent registration numbers."
