France 2 to relaunch "Password", France 3 is testing new games

2020-07-02T23:56:50.077Z

The Two is preparing for the return of the game led by Patrick Sabatier from 2009 to 2016 in the morning. Another game is also expected on the Three.

Good news for those who are nostalgic for "Password", stopped in 2016 after nine seasons: France 2 has decided to relaunch this game which consists of having a partner guess words by giving other clue words, with up to 100 000 euros at stake. But, small change, it will no longer be broadcast in the afternoon. According to our information, the chain decided to program it every morning before "Les Z'amours", in the old place of "Motus", embodied by Thierry Beccaro, or more recently reruns of "Everyone has his word to say ”, the game presented by Sidonie Bonnec and Olivier Minne at 6 pm.

Who will present this new version produced by FremantleMedia? This has not yet been implemented. Little chance that Patrick Sabatier, ousted from France Télévisions in 2016, before finding refuge a few months on C8, will be there again. France 2 is thinking of a young presenter from diverse backgrounds. The chain wishes to test this return to the start of the school year and should offer bursts of other games in this morning space every two or three months.

Three Anglo-Saxon game concepts for France 3

Still according to our information, France 3 is also preparing news in terms of TV games. Three Anglo-Saxon concepts are competing for the hut on Saturday at 8 pm in order to compensate for the failure of the mini-fiction “Parents mode d'emploi”, a defector from France 2. Two pilots were filmed.

The first: "Catchpoint" . This English quiz broadcast on BBC One mixes reflection and physical reflex. It is the French subsidiary of ITV Studios ("The Voice", "Get me out of there, I am a celebrity" ...) who is in charge of the adaptation. In the animation, Sandy Heribert, seen at Eurovision 2019 and on "The Course of Champions", alongside Teddy Riner and Olivier Minne. Comedian Jean-Luc Lemoine also tried his luck.

The second: "Generation Gap" . Broadcast on ABC in the United States, this game is produced by Jimmy Kimmel, known to the general public thanks to his popular late show entitled "Jimmy Kimmel Live! In France, the host Cyril Féraud ("Slam", "La Carte aux trésors" ...) was chosen to pass the first tests. In "Generation Gap", several members of the same family, but of different generations must correctly answer a humorous questionnaire. Behind the scenes, producer Thierry Lachkar (who launched “The Voice” on TF1) is in charge via his company Deeply Superficial.

A third project, led by Warner ("Affaire concluded"), was not tested, because the spectacular device is too imposing, but is still part of the short list. It is an adaptation of the American game broadcast on the FOX "Mental Samourai" , presented as a "Ninja Warrior" of intelligence. Here, candidates are installed in a capsule raised by an articulated arm and must answer questions in a limited time.
