France has more than 200 clusters (of epidemic foci) linked to Covid-19 since the deconfinement on May 11. One of the most recent, in Corrèze, is quite significant and caused the fortnight of about 60 people, reports France bleu.
Four people tested positive in Brive-la-Gaillarde and Malemort, a town bordering on the sub-prefecture of the department. Nearly 60 contact cases, 59 in total, were identified and placed in quarantine.
The first patient was identified on Wednesday. The four had a party with friends of about 20 people last week. These people are now confined. Their contacts are also in isolation. An investigation is continuing to trace back to possible other contact cases.
Negative people also in isolation
The total number of people attached to this cluster could therefore further increase. Test results are expected next week. La Montagne, citing the Regional Health Agency, specifies that even the negative contacts to Covid-19 are in the fortnight; they will be tested again next week.
France bleu recalls that a potentially even larger cluster has been detected elsewhere in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, in the Landes. 400 seasonal workers, mainly foreigners, must be tested on Monday. They work in a field specialized in the cultivation of blueberries.
People who participated in the election night for environmentalists in Lyon will also be screened after a young candidate tested positive for Covid-19.
