In Italy, the birthplace of Ennio Morricone, the chairman of the board Giuseppe Conte said: “We will always remember, with infinite recognition, the artistic genius of the Maestro. It made us dream, move us, reflect, by writing memorable notes that will remain indelible in the history of music and cinema ” .

"Ennio. My Maestro and everyone else's. This is our first photo together. It was in April 2013 and we recorded La Solitudine with your score ... Immense artist ... We will love you forever, your name belongs to the history and the pride of our country " , tweeted the singer Laura Pausini.

Gigi d'Alessio, another transalpine singer, wanted to recall that the composer had "enchanted and moved" the whole world. "Now he has gone to conduct the choir of angels," he added.

Very moved, Aurelio De Laurentiis, producer and president of the Naples football club, wrote several posts. He is the nephew of Dino De Laurentiis, producer among others of Streghe de Visconti, Bolognini, Pasolini and De Sica, for which Ennio Morricone had composed in 1967.

“It is a part of world cinema that goes with it. A testimony to the way in which Italians can be protagonists in everything. (...) His humility, united to an ever ostentatious grandeur, enabled him to support small and very large films, by bringing them a unique soul, making them unforgettable and perfect, ” he commented.

In France, Frank Riester also went there to pay homage. "What would the 7th art have been without Ennio Morricone? Our memories of cinema are written in the ink of his scores. He left to join Sergio Leone, and the harmonica resonates in all of us today. Ciao, Maestro, " wrote the outgoing minister.

"Ennio Morricone a unique sound, magnificent melodies, a major influence and a source of constant inspiration: with love and respect," said Jean-Michel Jarre on Twitter. "It's like a member of my family, it's weird to say that when I have a great composer of film music in my family, but Morricone is part of my intimacy, he has been omnipresent in my life. Without Morricone, like many other musicians I think, I would not be there the same way, ” he told AFP.

"For me, it's the loss of a major influence in my life, as a musician, but also for his sound approach, for the sound-image relationship, this unique mixture of incredible melodies and this sound of total modernity, he wrote the music of the future. (...) After 10 seconds of film music, we know it's his, what film it is, we see the images (...) At Morricone there are these alloys , like associating a harp, an electric guitar, orchestral choirs , " explained the star of electronic music at length.

"The very great Ennio Morricone," soberly wrote Ken Loach and Sixteen Films, his production company.

Pierre Lescure, Antonio Banderas and the National Audiovisual Institute also contributed to the wave of tributes. The INA also posted a cross portrait between Morricone and Sergio Leone, dating from 1974.
