(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 07 JUL - The new epidemic phase of Covid-19 continues in Serbia, with 13 new deaths in 24 hours, the highest number of victims daily since the start of the pandemic last March. In total, 330 deaths have been reported in Serbia so far, with 16,719 cases of contagion, of which 299 since yesterday. There is also a significant increase in the number of intensive care patients with respiratory assistance, which are currently 110.
In 18 locations, including the capital Belgrade, the 'emergency situation' has been declared due to the significant deterioration of the health conditions, while the places of hospital admission are in many cases exhausted and provisional provisional hospitals-Covid are set up at fairs, arenas and sports halls for non-serious cases.
The authorities, due to the sudden worsening of the epidemiological situation, have reintroduced some restrictions relating to gatherings and the opening hours of restaurants and bars (until 11 pm). A mask is required on public transport and in all indoor places.
Meanwhile, transportation of medical-healthcare supplies from China has resumed today, which in the first phase of the epidemic in the spring provided the Balkan country with huge quantities of masks, gloves, diving suits, visors and disinfectant materials, with an authentic airlift that went on for weeks. Today, two media planes loaded with medicine and medical supplies have arrived in Belgrade, one from Shanghai, the other from Tijanjin. (HANDLE).
