The drama took place in Anshun, in the poor province of Guizhou, in the southwest of the country, late Tuesday morning. A bus deviated from its path, before hitting safety gates and plunging into a lake below. According to CCTV, high school students who passed the Chinese baccalaureate, whose tests started on Tuesday, were on the bus. Rescuers managed to rescue 15 wounded and the bodies of 21 people. A total of 19 fire trucks, 21 canoes and 97 rescuers were mobilized. The reasons for the accident are unclear.
