(ANSA) - NEW YORK, JULY 08 - Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg does not convince the civil rights associations, which are the basis for the escape of the advertising of numerous companies from the platform.
"Instead of pledging to eradicate hatred and disinformation from Facebook, the leaders of the company presented the same old arguments to try to calm us down without meeting our demands," says Jessica Gonzalez, the Free Press co-administrator, who attended the conference call with Zuckerberg and Facebook chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg.
"They showed up to the meeting expecting" the highest grade just for the "participation. But participation alone is not enough", Rashad Robinson, at the helm of Color of Change, increases the dose.
Many large companies - including Coca-Cola, Starbucks, Unilever and Ford - have started to boycott Facebook for what they believe the social network's failure to act on hate content and misinformation on its platform.
