The world of sports is in mourning after the unfortunate death of professional golfer Sean Fredrickson , his son Hayden Fredrickson and his stepchildren Sofia and Quinn Olsen .
It all happened during a tragic plane crash over Lake Coeur d'Alene in Idaho, when two small aircraft collided with each other and crashed into the water, the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office revealed.
According to the authorities, eight people were on board both planes and there were apparently no survivors.
One of the planes involved was a hydrofoil that took tourists for walks. He was carrying five passengers, four of whom were Fredrickson with his children, as well as the pilot, Ryan Sheriff of the sheriff's department said at a press conference . The other plane was a Cessna, which originally had three people on board.

Sean, 48, his son Hayden, 16, and his stepchildren Sofia, 15, and Quinn, 11, were confirmed by the golfer's wife as four of the victims.
"My family died while on an adventure ... Everyone was so excited to be on that plane. I think at the end of the day they died doing what they loved, which was, you know, being together," April Fredrickson told the local KPTV news station .
"My daughter was 15 and she loved life, she literally loved life," added April. "My little boy was Quinn. He was 11 years old and he was my best friend. He was always in tune with what he needed."
Fredrickson, who served as a professional golfer and as president of the PGA Section of the Pacific Northwest, was remembered by his colleagues and loved ones as a dedicated father and lifelong champion of the sport.
"Sean was an amazing father, husband, golfer, mentor and leader," the PGA said in a statement. "There are never words to communicate the pain of such loss. Whether through prayer or silent reflection, please hold Sean and his family in your hearts. As you remember, reflect on enthusiasm, integrity, passion and the love we saw in him every day. We will miss you, our friend. "
It should be noted that the tragic accident occurred on July 5 around 2:20 pm, after the US Coast Guard and several units responded to the report of an apparent air collision.
Later, the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office search team located the wreckage of the plane 127 feet underwater.
Authorities have not officially released the identities of all the victims, and the accident is currently being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board.
