Reimundo Nazario Pino is an expert in setting fox traps. For this reason, the owners of ranches went to look for him at his precarious house in the small town of Gan Gan, on the plateau of Chubut. He lived alone, but he had five female daughters.
On the afternoon of July 5, 2011, Eliberto Sepúlveda , the owner of a ranch, came to look for him. The foxes were killing the sheep. Reimundo left with the man. They first traveled other fields until they reached the “El Portezuelo” Establishment where there was another pawn waiting: Elvio Cumil . It was already July 8.
Reimundo Pino went to bed to sleep and the next day he went out to do his job. He ran into a strong wind that did not allow him to see a meter because it raised the ash that had been left in great quantity due to the recent eruption of a Chilean volcano: the Puyehue. It was the last time anything was known about that quiet, hardworking man, a typical field worker . This week marks the 9th anniversary of his disappearance . And his family and friends are still looking for him.
“ It is impossible that it was lost . Reimundo was born a few kilometers from the ranch where he was taken to work. He was very cool. He knew every corner of the plateau. And the ash could not have made him lose because he had been working in those conditions for a long time, ” Ángel Callupil, a member of the Aboriginal Pastoral of the Diocese of Comodoro Rivadavia, who has always accompanied the family , told Clarín .

Reimundo's mother does not give up. At 87 years old, Doña Hortensia leads all the exits to continue looking for her. "He is alive, nobody does anything," says the woman.
Hortensia was shopping at a Gan Gan market on July 10, 2011 when a granddaughter approached her and said: “Grandmother, they say you are looking for the Reimundo. That it was lost. ” That's how the woman found out. Neither the boss Eliberto Sepúlveda nor the Cumil peon had communicated anything to him.
“No one believes it has been lost. No one did anything in the investigation. And we always wonder why no one told Hortencia what had happened to her son, ”added Callupil.
With few people but a lot of heart, the residents of Gan Gan demonstrate through the dusty streets of the small town claiming for the appearance of Reimundo. “Another question we ask ourselves is that if something happened to him, where is the body? Scavenger birds abound on these sides, piling up and announcing the presence of some dead animal on the plateau. No one saw anything . "
Hortencia is lonko (head) of the Mapuche-Tehuelche community. In this town no one is confused: the electoral register has only two surnames: Pine and Which . The 300 inhabitants live on livestock, in general they are pawns like Reimundo. There are only a handful of provincial and rural commune employees.

"Reimundo was a good guy. At 43 he still had the strength to work in the fields. He took his little wine, he spent his loneliness as best he could," added Callupil. Of the laborer, there is only one sepia photo , holding a candle during a baptism. "It is one of the few memories."
The missing pawn was born and learned to walk very close to the place where it was last seen. Almost a decade has passed, but no one drops their arms and they are still looking for him.
