#Vivomediterraneo, the decalogue of experts in the name of the Med diet

The #VivoMediterraneo Movement was born, leading to a lifestyle that combines nutrition, movement, conviviality and sustainability. This is thanks to the Italian pasta makers of Unione Italiana Food who asked an international pool of 11 experts from various disciplines to trace the path to the rebirth of the food system after Coronavirus. In fact, in the time of Covid-19, the Italians have rediscovered the pillars of the Mediterranean Diet which this year is 10 years after being registered as a UNESCO heritage; this at a time when we were abandoning it, 4 out of 10 according to the European Journal of Public Health. ROME - The #VivoMediterraneo Movement is born, it leads to a lifestyle that combines nutrition, movement, conviviality and sustainability. This is thanks to the Italian pasta makers of Unione Italiana Food who asked an international pool of 11 experts from various disciplines to trace the path to the rebirth of the food system after Coronavirus. In fact, in the time of Covid-19, the Italians have rediscovered the pillars of the Mediterranean Diet which this year is 10 years after being registered as a UNESCO heritage; this at a time when we were abandoning it, 4 out of 10 according to the European Journal of Public Health.

"We asked a pool of experts to help us rationalize a way of life within everyone's reach, starting from the reasons that have moved the Italians away from the Mediterranean diet over the years - explains the president of the pasta makers of the Italian Union, Food Riccardo Felicetti - showing that he has just need to be encouraged. " And to confirm the centrality of pasta in Mediterranean living is the international scientific community, which in 2015 signed a Declaration to highlight the benefits of a diet based on pasta and complex carbohydrates. Among the 10 principles of the Movement there is the importance of being informed so as not to take on miraculous diets and look at food without prejudice; eat everything, at the right time and in the right quantities; advice for an active and sustainable lifestyle; live food as a cultural experience, share the pleasure of eating and cooking together. Many of these ideas resume, updating them to the new context, the pillars of the Mediterranean Diet, yet they are far from obvious. The Movement will also take off on Instagram, where influencers and foodies will compete to the sound of Live IG in a challenge, creating the best pasta dish in the "Vivo Mediterraneo" style.
