An outbreak of contamination was detected in the nuclear power plant and 23 employees were placed in "isolation", according to the Regional Agency

Twenty-three employees of an EDF provider working on the site of the Belleville-sur-Loire nuclear power plant (Cher) tested positive for Covid-19 during a screening campaign, announced on Friday the Regional Health Agency (ARS) of Center-Val de Loire.

In the Belleville-sur-Loire nuclear power plant, “523 employees have been tested to date. Among these 523 employees, 23 employees were detected positive ”, assured the ARS, which specifies in a press release that“ the persons concerned are all placed in solitary confinement and none of the positive employees shows any signs of seriousness ”.

This screening was launched following the mid-week detection of a dozen cases among the employees of this service provider, working on the site of the ten-yearly outage.

"The site concerned was stopped as soon as the first cases appeared and the places concerned were cleaned, disinfected and confined," added the agency.
