Costa Environment Minister announces: 'Our aim is to ensure the best possible coexistence between man and nature' (ANSA)

"We formalized last night the request to the District Attorney of the State to urgently lodge an appeal before the TAR to obtain the cancellation of the culling order for the Gaia bear . Our aim is to ensure the best possible coexistence between man and nature". So the Minister of the Environment Sergio Costa who speaks of "disproportionate ordinance". The initiative of the Ministry of the Environment, already announced in recent days, was taken after acknowledging that the President of the Autonomous Province of Trento did not accept Minister Costa's invitation to withdraw that part of the order that asked for the bear culling, reports the ministry itself.

"We know - added Costa - that peaceful coexistence between human species and bears is possible and the order, which contains the culling order for Gaia, is a decidedly disproportionate measure compared to the exceptional nature of what happened".
