Sony gets closer to the creators of Fortnite . The Japanese giant announced Thursday evening that it had invested $ 250 million in the American video game company Epic Games. If the sum is high, it brings to Sony only a tiny share of the capital: 1.4%. Epic Games is now valued at $ 18 billion, a value based on its online game Fortnite, its PC game sales activity (Epic Games Store), and its real-time 3D creation platform Unreal Engine, an engine used by a large part of the industry to develop their games. The next version of this engine, Unreal Engine 5, was unveiled in May with a running demonstration on the PlayStation 5, the new console from Sony.
