In a platform, doctors demand "the compulsory mask" in closed public places

In a forum unveiled this Saturday by the Parisian-Today in France, caregivers claim that the wearing of a mask is compulsory da

While we note here and there a relaxation in the respect of barrier gestures and a multiplication of alerts on a possible restart of the epidemic of Covid-19, as was observed in Mayenne, caregivers sign a platform to claim wearing a mandatory mask in enclosed public places.

Masked but free!

“The first wave of the Covid-19 has passed, with all the human, economic and social consequences we know about. For all of us, the temptation is great and understandable to resume a normal life, to forget the virus, to enjoy summer, the beaches, evenings with friends and the proximity found. Unfortunately, the virus does not forget us, and is still trying to spread wherever it can. Half of the inhabitants of the planet were confined recently, more than 500,000 people have died worldwide, including 30,000 in France.

In the world, moreover, the peak of the first wave of the pandemic is not yet reached, and all the countries which have not confined enough know a considerable and increasing number of deaths. In France, the indicators are still mostly green, but weak signals are starting to appear and should alert us to a possible massive restart of transmissions.

However, it is at this stage that action must be taken to avoid a new massive and deadly wave. When the clusters are more numerous and uncontrollable, it will be too late to avoid a new confinement, more or less complete. The second wave of tomorrow is therefore preparing today. We, caregivers, will be by your side to take care of you as we did during the first wave, but we no longer want to count the dead as we had to do.

Unlike the beginning of the year, we now know that an effective preventive measure is the respect of barrier gestures in crowded enclosed spaces. Wearing a mask is therefore an important condition to limit the spread of the virus. We are used to it, even if it remains uncomfortable, and today we have the necessary stocks. Wearing a mask does not only aim to protect yourself, but also to prevent the spread of the virus; as long as everyone wears it! If you don't do it for yourself, do it for your older parents, your hypertensive brother or sister, or your fragile loved ones in whom the virus could be fatal. Let us not forget as quickly as we have probably lived and are still going through the greatest health catastrophe of our century.

It would therefore be very unfortunate not to use these effective and accessible means which are: the wearing of the compulsory mask in all enclosed public places, physical distancing as much as possible, and hand washing. Many of us have relaxed our efforts for a few days or weeks, we want to tell them and reiterate them, to avoid a new confinement: # MasquesMaisEnLiberté! "
