The health authorities of the province of Buenos Aires and the City interpreted the moment of the pandemic in a different way, the so-called "peak" of contagion of the coronavirus: for the Buenos Aires government it has arrived, but for the Buenos Aires government, it has not yet .
In this sense, the Minister of Health of the City of Buenos Aires, Fernán Quirós, affirmed this Sunday that "we are at the highest part of the peak of coronavirus infections" and remarked: "Hopefully it will be the hardest part and that we start to descend . "
In this way, the official assured that if the coronavirus transmission curve behaves as stipulated until July 17, the plan will be to return to the situation in which the Federal Capital was before the beginning of this month , when The last stage of the quarantine began.
"Our idea is that if everyone continues as is now, by 17 we can return to where we were before this new quarantine," said Quirós. The Rodríguez Larreta official explained that the plan would then be to resume everything as it worked just before July 1 , when President Alberto Fernández extended and tightened mandatory social and preventive isolation.
For his part, the Deputy Minister of Health, Nicolás Kreplak, stated tonight that in the Conurbano in particular and in the province of Buenos Aires in general " the peak has not yet arrived" , although he admitted that it is going through "the time of the greatest number of cases "so far in the pandemic.
"Although we have not reached the plateau of the curve" it is already beginning to be seen that "the level of contagiousness of the virus has been flattened a little". " We didn't get to see the peak, much less the decline," of cases , he said.
In an interview with Todo Noticias, the Axel Kicillof official acknowledged that " one can see that one can go down first where there are the most cases. These days the curve flattened, giving us tools to release some activities again" .
For his part, Quirós also spoke about the future of the quarantine: "We plan to return to the way it was before in relation to the opening of local shops, the possibility of recreational outings -such as runners- and public transport . "
When comparing the situation in Argentina with that of some countries in Europe, Quirós stated that our country has been in the most critical part since the pandemic began: "Our peak never reached what other regions experienced, so we hope make it the hardest part and now let's start going down, "he said.
Regarding physical activity, the official assured that it is important to alleviate isolation: "We insist that it is important and does good to health. It has also been studied that outdoor activity is much less contagious than in closed places ."
How the City is going
Regarding the current situation of the City of Buenos Aires, Quirós spoke about the capacity in hospitals: "Today we have 262 beds occupied. That is more or less 60 percent. If we manage to reduce the contagion curve during this week , decidedly that is not going to be a limitation to think about making flexible ".
Clarín had already advanced the schedule with which the authorities plan to reopen the AMBA. The first opening will include individual physical activity, or the return of the runners, in addition to the opening of local shops that closed on July 1 and are not essential items: bookstores, neighborhood galleries in areas with little circulation of people, removals, music streaming and kiddie rides every day.
In the second phase of the adult recreational walks on weekends, it could be in the morning. Museums are also expected to resume administrative duties and libraries to operate only to pick up and return books.
In the third of these phases , recreational walks for adults will be allowed all week. The capacity admitted in cultural spaces will be increased from 10 to 20 people. Construction will be enabled for works that have 30 days to complete. And it will begin to outline the return to schools.
