After the projects of the BioNTech and Pfizer laboratories to test the coronavirus vaccine in Argentina were disclosed, the Minister of Health, Ginés González García, said that there was still no official presentation, but that they are still negotiating with several companies to the landing of immunization.

"Until now there has been no presentation at Anmat, but we hope that there will be more than one in the coming days, " the minister said, in dialogue with Radio 10.

In this sense, he added: "There are several firms with which we are talking , there are many global projects. And we ask them two things: that they assure us a certain priority in the provision of the vaccine when it is available and also that there is technology transfer, that the vaccine can be developed in our country, because otherwise the production will not reach ".

Explaining the reasons why Argentina is one of the countries chosen for these tests, Ginés stated: "As a Government, we have opened the doors to research in Argentina, which is an accredited country as a result of the institutions, its researchers and for having a regulatory agency that legalizes and legitimizes this (Anmat). We made all that heritage count. "

On the other hand, regarding the rumors about a new stage of quarantine divided between the City and the Buenos Aires suburbs, the minister clarified that the decisions will be taken together.

"On Friday we spoke with the ministers of the City and Province, thinking in advance about the evolution of the epidemic. And at no time was there talk of doing something different on either side, " said Ginés.

"I think that there is going to be some flexibility, I am not going to decide, but we believe that in psychological, social and economic terms nobody likes to be restrictive, that people are angry. There are situations that have to be considered, but the The decision will be in harmony , in the consensus that we have had from day one, "he continued.

Finally, the official spoke about the return to soccer. He assured that "there is no date" for the return of training and announced that he will negotiate with Conmebol so as not to harm the Argentine teams, after the South American entity approved the return of the Copa Libertadores for September 15 .

"The measure was taken from the policy of some of the countries that make it up and that have not paid attention to what the epidemiological situation is. So a country that cares for itself is at a disadvantage and we will talk about it after this This is what I discussed with the AFA. We are surely going to look for a way so that the Argentine teams are not disadvantaged, "he concluded.
