In a key week to learn how the quarantine will continue beyond July 17, the Ministry of Health reported that in the last 24 hours there were 58 deaths and 3,099 new infections of coronavirus.
This Sunday, the country added 2,657 new cases and with that number Argentina exceeded 100,000 positives since the pandemic reached the country. Meanwhile, the number of deceased increased to 1,903.
In the morning report on Monday, the ministry reported 14 new deaths. There were seven men, 3 of 87, 77 and 100 years old, from the province of Buenos Aires; 4 of 67, 89, 76 and 86 years of age, from the City of Buenos Aires (CABA); and 7 women, 2 of 80 and 74 years, from the province of Buenos Aires; and 5 of 86, 81, 75, 91 and 97 years of CABA.
44 new deaths were later recorded. They are 28 men, 15 of 46, 86, 51, 91, 40, 94, 85, 65, 72, 79, 84, 58, 95, 69 and 62 years old, residing in the province of Buenos Aires; 13 of 26, 35, 86, 84, 86, 55, 74, 81, 55, 96, 65, 62 and 86 years, residents in the City of Buenos Aires (CABA); and 16 women, 7 of 72, 30, 65, 82, 76, 86 and 70 years, residing in the province of Buenos Aires; and 9 of 66, 84, 75, 68, 75, 77, 43, 80 and 87 years, resident in the City of Buenos Aires (CABA).
Of the total reported cases (49.4% women and 50.6% men), 1.1% are imported, 33.3% are in close contact, 48.1% are in community circulation and the rest are in epidemiological investigation. The total of discharges is 44,173 people.
The province of Buenos Aires counted 2,002 new infections, which meant 60 percent of the total of the day. The City of Buenos Aires followed, with 860 positives.
Neuquén (47), Córdoba (44), Entre Ríos (42), Río Negro (27), Chaco (25) are the provinces that registered the most cases this Monday,
On Sunday, 8,114 new samples had been made and since the start of the outbreak, 474,422 diagnostic tests were carried out for this disease, which is equivalent to 10,455.2 samples per million inhabitants. The number of cases discarded until that day was 293,297.
