After a weekend without press release, Santé Publique France updated its health report on the Covid-19 epidemic on Monday. According to the Directorate General of Health (DGS) which publishes it, 25 people have died in the last 72 hours in French hospitals due to the new coronavirus. This brings to 30,029 the total number of deaths recorded in France since the start of the crisis.
While the fear of a second wave paralyzes dozens of countries, including our German neighbors, this new health assessment does not raise any particular concern. 6,983 patients are hospitalized, which is 79 less than Friday. 492 intensive care beds are also occupied this Monday, four fewer than Friday in total despite 10 new admissions. Regarding SOS Doctors in the city interventions, health authorities have identified 458 since Friday (against 359 Thursday), which shows that the virus is still transmitted at low noise.
The day after Jean Castex's displacement in Guyana, the health authorities nevertheless recalled the "worrying" circulation of the virus in this department.
Cautionary message for July 14
Note that these new elements must be taken with caution. On the one hand, it is a gradual catching up of the data for the last three days. On the other hand, the figures for social and medico-social establishments - in other words Ehpad- will be updated only on Wednesday, the day after the July 14 bridge. As a reminder, 10,476 disappearances were recorded within these places.
The Directorate General of Health also said that it was "particularly attentive to the appearance of potential clusters, linked in particular to private, family or festive gatherings during this summer period, in particular on the eve of National Day".
