Coronavirus: Israel, record 1,681 cases in 24 hours

(ANSAmed) - TEL AVIV, JULY 14 - The spread of the coronavirus yesterday recorded a new daily record in Israel of 1,681 infections among the more than 27 thousand tests conducted (just over 6%). As reported by the Ministry of Health, the total number of positive cases has risen to41,235. So far, there are 368 deaths.
    21,393 are now affected by the virus, mostly isolated in their homes or in hotels set up by the authorities.
   More than 500 people are hospitalized in hospitals, 177 of whom are in serious condition (with 55 patients in intensive care).
    The most affected cities are Jerusalem (with more than one millecontagus in the last week), the Orthodox town of BneiBrak (594 cases in a week) and Tel Aviv (574). According to imedia, the need for a national lockdown is emerging again, even if the government reiterated yesterday that it will do everything possible to avoid having to resort to a drastic measure (ANSAmed).
