For the first time since assuming the presidency of the Republic in 2017, Emmanuel Macron gave an interview on July 14. He answered questions from journalists Gilles Bouleau and Léa Salamé who notably asked him if he would take chloroquine in the event of contamination with Covid-19. "No," replied the president. "From what I understand from science, there is no stabilized treatment" explained Emmanuel Macron. "I will defer to the doctors who follow me," he said.
There is no consensus among scientists to use this antimalarial to treat coronavirus. In France, Professor Didier Raoult is one of the great defenders of this treatment.
