"The 2030 agenda focuses not on national governments but mainly on municipalities, true hubs of the green revolution". This was underlined by the Minister of the Environment, Sergio Costa, speaking on video link to the press conference to update Forestami, the urban forestry project promoted by the Municipality of Milan and the Metropolitan City.

According to the minister, the Milan project "can be used as a prototype on a national profile and with the Climate law we can hook it up, then support it on an ultra national and European profile with the Recovery Plan". Forestami "can mark the pace for a whole series of Municipalities, moreover the data tell us that in 2030 reasonably more than 60% of the world population will live in cities and in 2050 this percentage will rise to 78-80%. We must go towards a new design and also for this I signed the minimum environmental criteria for all public administrations, for the management of public green areas ". Minister Costa then recalled the 'Youth4Climate: Driving Ambition' and Pre-Cop26 appointment in Milan in the autumn of 2021. "Young people will come to Milan to discuss and propose, going from protest to proposal," concluded the minister.
