The Ministry of Health of the Nation confirmed in the morning report this Friday 21 new fatalities due to coronavirus in Argentina with respect to the last report, bringing the death toll to 2,133.
The average age of the deceased is 75 years old and the case fatality rate is 1.8%, while the mortality rate is 46.5 people per million inhabitants.
According to official figures, in Argentina there are 114,783 confirmed cases of coronavirus , of which 3,624 were registered this Thursday. Of the total, 0.9% are imported, 32.4% are close contacts of confirmed cases, 50.5% are cases of community circulation and the rest are under epidemiological investigation.
On the other hand, 793 people infected with Covid-19 are in intensive care, of which 91.4% correspond to units located in the City and Province of Buenos Aires.
The percentage of occupation of intensive care units at the national level, both for cases of coronavirus and other diseases, is 53.9%, while in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area it amounts to 64%.
The number of recovered from Covid-19 is 49,780, which represents 43.4% of the total confirmed cases.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 316,346 cases of coronavirus discarded in Argentina through laboratory tests, which amount to 519,281, which represents 11,443 tests per million inhabitants, with a positivity rate of 26.7%.
Globally, the number of infected already exceeds 13,378,000 cases, of which 226,181 were identified in the last 24 hours. The lethality of 4.3%.
In America there are 7,016,851 infected with coronavirus, which represents 52.4%. The United States concentrates 48.5% of the total, Brazil 27.5% and Argentina 1.5%. The case fatality is 4.2%.
