Jean Castex went to Nantes with the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin and the Minister of Culture Roselyne Bachelot to observe the damage of the fire and to meet the firefighters mobilized. The Prime Minister spoke briefly to "pay tribute to the dedication and great professionalism" of the firefighters.
"Place now for investigation," he called before expressing his wish to see the cathedral rebuilt "as quickly as possible," adding that "the state will take its full share."
