The nonagenarian releases "Self-portrait". Good foot, good eye, he receives in the old house of Maillol, his new home.

The welcome is warm, the handshake firm. It's hard to say that this man will celebrate his 91 years on August 18. Hugues Aufray is happy to receive Le Figaro , of which he is an avid reader. On his table, our review of Bob Dylan's new album, which he has been close to since he met him in New York in 1961. On the walls, photos, memories of a career that has lasted for the end of the years 1950. In the garden, a sculpture by Maillol, previous occupant of this house in Marly-le-Roi (Yvelines). In his studio, Hugues Aufray installed his sculptures, paintings and his National guitar from 1929. “She is the same age as me!” He exclaims.

LE FIGARO.- Self-portrait is your first record since Troubador since 1948 , in 2011. Why did you wait?

Hugues AUFRAY.- It's been nine years already? I didn't realize it. After Troubador since 1948 , I started a tour. It was a period when my producer, Pascal Bernardin, did not believe in my potential.
