Israel is in negotiations to purchase options for additional vaccines that are being developed, including the Oxford University and Astra Zenica vaccines, which today (Monday) the keys reported positive results in the trial and the possibility that it will be available later this year.

This is despite the fact that the British company's policy is to sell the vaccine to international organizations, in order to avoid preferring one country over another.

However, Israel is trying to acquire vaccine options in the form of direct negotiations. The Ministry of Health says that they are working on all levels and on a daily basis to establish contacts and provide as many vaccines as possible and as quickly as possible to Israel.

To date, Israel has signed an agreement to purchase vaccines only with the "Modern" company. But in light of the fact that this is in fact a gamble and it is not clear which of the vaccines will reach the finish line first, Israel was expected to sign agreements with other companies.

Astra Zenika Israel responded: "As part of the vaccine's efforts, it has been decided that international bodies and organizations will manage the future distribution of the vaccine between the countries around the world. The pharmaceutical company works night and day to provide vaccine for the COVID-19 virus. "Astra Zenika is constantly working with the Ministry of Health to make vaccines accessible to Israeli citizens as well."

As you may recall, Israel is also working on developing a vaccine at the Biological Institute in Ness Ziona. Last May, researchers announced a significant breakthrough in vaccine development, having succeeded in developing an antibody that is actually an immunotherapeutic drug that causes the immune system to attack the virus.
