Corona's commissioner, Professor Roni Gamzo, took office only last Thursday, and has already begun to act and make changes as part of dealing with the virus. Gamzo instructed the team of scientists at the Gartner Institute, which creates the corona disease forecast, and will now begin working in conjunction with a model developed by Professor Eli Schafercher, Ichilov's VP of Research and Development and Director of the Dermatology Department.
The predictions presented by the Gartner Institute, which include an estimate of the number of critically ill and respirated patients, are considered more pessimistic, and many have argued that their estimates were exaggerated, far from what actually happened in the end. At the same time, the predictions of Professor Schaeffer from Ichilov proved to be more accurate in the test of reality.
Now, Commissioner Gamzo, who also serves as the director of Ichilov Hospital, has decided to formulate a model that will combine the two different models that he believes will be more credible, and will be a reliable source for decision makers.

"The different models all rely on a number of different assumptions and different points of view and the important thing is a dialogue between the researchers and a consensus," Gamzo said. "I assumed that within a day, the researchers from both teams would produce an integrated model that would form a unique, uniform and reliable basis for decision-makers."
