The successful actor Seth Rogen caused a stir following an interview he gave to the promotion of his new film, "An American Pickle", in which he voiced harsh criticism against the State of Israel and the Jewish people.

Criticism: Gamzo avoided the difficult questions

Rogen, 38, was a guest on comedian Mark Maroon's podcast last Monday to promote his new film, and the two soon found themselves in an ongoing discourse on Judaism and Israel, which included a host of charged statements. Maron even warned the listeners at the beginning of the broadcast that "if you do not like Jews, it will arouse emotions in you, and later even explicitly stated:" We are going to annoy a lot of Jews. "

Today is @Sethrogen day on @WTFpod! The Jewiest talk ever on this show! American Pickle, Jewish summer camp, who is the toughest Jew, lots more about Jews! Great talk! Fun! Do it up! https://t.co/TRZkCfIIIs

The two comedians are of Jewish descent. Rogen's parents even knew Kibbutz Beit Alfa, he went to a Jewish school as a child, attended a Jewish summer camp and was married to the Jewish American actress Lauren Miller. However, the two did not spare criticism of the Jewish people and Judaism, and among other things touched on a variety of charged issues of identity, religion and politics.

"There is no need to 'put all the Jews in one basket,'" Rogen said when asked by Maron what he thought about the emigration of Jews to countries other than Israel after the Holocaust. "It's a better strategy," he replied. "I do not understand why they did it. It makes no sense. It is nice to live in a place that is not part of the apocalyptic Christian prophecy, a place where Christians do not think we should all die."

When asked if he would like to live in Israel, Rogen replied emphatically: "No." Maron reinforced his words, adding: "I know we will upset many Jews, but my mother's generation, which is not religious, finds solace in relying on the State of Israel. I can not imagine myself living there."

Rogen went on to say: "There are nice places there, but at best you convince yourself that you are far enough from conflict not to worry about it and that is a terrible thing to convince yourself of. I do not understand it. It just seems to me like an outdated thought process. Even if "It is for religious purposes. I do not agree with that because I think religion is stupid. If it is really meant to preserve the Jewish people it is also illogical, because again, you are not concentrating on something you want to keep in one place, certainly not when the place is explosive."

Seth went on to say that as a Jew he felt he had grown up with a great many lies about Israel throughout his life. "They never tell you, 'You know, by the way, there were people there before.' They make it look like it's always been there."

Rogen went on to say that he fails to understand how Jews who see themselves as enlightened and critical and challenge the status quo do not ask themselves what they are doing. Maron even went so far as to say that they are afraid of Jews and Rogen was quick to reinforce his words: "I am afraid of Jews. I am 100% afraid of Jews ... but we are Jews, so we can say what we want ... if anyone can say what he wants about all This cruise, these are two famous Jews, "Rferer told Rogen to himself and Maron, adding:" If anyone is kidnapped, it's first of all us. Rogen is an actor, producer, dubber, comedian, writer and successful director, best known for his roles in films such as "The Date That Stuck Me," "Neighbors," "Superbad" and "End Interview."

In 2014, in the midst of Operation Resilient Cliff, he joined hundreds of celebs such as Roseanne Barr, Sarah Silverman, Mim Bialik and Arnold Schwarzenegger, and signed a petition in support of Israel. Since then, it seems, his support for Israel has completely disappeared.
