Returning to under one million weekly admissions, French cinemas recorded a 79% drop in attendance at the end of July, three times less than the average before the health crisis, according to CBO Box-office on Wednesday. In the absence in particular of American blockbusters whose releases have been postponed, 963,799 admissions were recorded from July 22 to 28 against 1.170 million the previous week. In Paris, the drop exceeds 73%.

Scooby !, a family animated film, took the lead in the weekly rankings with 136,617 seats in front of 605 screens, accumulating 480,000 admissions in three weeks. With Michaël Youn, Divorce Club, a French comedy starring Arnaud Ducret and François-Xavier Demaison, loses one place and finds itself in second position with just under 129,000 spectators.

Simply Black, a comedy co-directed by Jean-Pascal Zadi and John Wax, in which a bunch of personalities appear in their own roles, from singers JoeyStarr and Soprano to actor Omar Sy, retains third place with 114,515 admissions, crossing the cap of 520,000 spectators in three weeks. On the fourth step of the podium, Eté 85 by François Ozon drew some 77,000 spectators in front of 538 screens in the second week. Franco-Belgian film by Solange Cicurel on the adolescent crisis, Adorables, with Elsa Zylberstein gathered nearly 70,000 admissions in the first week.
