According to a study published today (Thursday) by Johns Hopkins University, Israel is at the bottom of the global table of mortality rates from Corona among the countries where there is currently a high morbidity - only 0.7%. Most of the top 20 places in the table are occupied by less developed countries or countries called "Third World", the top of the table is surprisingly occupied by the United Kingdom, with no less than 15% mortality from the virus.

In explanations of the table, the study's authors noted: "One of the most important ways to measure the burden of the corona plague is mortality." According to the study, countries around the world have reported very different mortality rates (the number of deaths divided by the number of cases confirmed). The differences in numbers can be caused by a number of factors. The first factor is the number of corona tests performed: the more tests, the more asymptomatic carriers or mild patients are identified, which lowers the mortality rate compared to carriers / patients.

Another important characteristic is demographics: mortality tends to be higher among countries with older populations. An equally important factor is the characteristics of the health system: mortality may increase as hospitals become more congested and as local resources have less resources.

At the top of the global mortality table from Corona among the countries where morbidity is high these days (deaths relative to carriers) is, by a considerable margin from other countries, the United Kingdom, with 15.2% mortality from the virus. It is followed by Mexico with 11.1%, Iran with 5.5%, and Egypt with 5%. In the US there is a mortality rate of 3.4%, and in Russia - 1.6%.

Another table in the study indicates the number of corona deaths out of 100,000 people - also among the countries where morbidity is high these days. Also in this table is the UK at the top, with 69.13 deaths out of 100,000, followed by Peru with 57.58, Chile with 49.33, the USA in fourth place with 45.62 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants. This table shows that countries with a particularly large population, India and Egypt, for example, naturally fall to a lower place in the ranking, with Taiwan at the bottom of the table (minus countries with no reliable data, such as Yemen and Syria), with 0.03% deaths per 100,000. In Israel, there are 5.47 deaths per Every 100,000.

In the data segmentation of all countries since the beginning of the epidemic, the picture changes: after the UK are a large part of European countries - Belgium with 14.8% mortality per carrier / patient, Italy with 14.2%, France with 13.7%, Hungary with 13.4% and the Netherlands with 11.5%.

The mortality rate per 100,000 people since the beginning of the plague, is led by the tiny country of San Marino with 124.32 deaths per 100,000 people, followed by Belgium with 86 deaths, and the United Kingdom with 69.12 deaths per 100,000 people.
