(ANSA) - ROME, JULY 31 - "The abatteria labeling system that we are adopting in Italy is our alternative to Nutriscore and it is far better, because we are convinced that consumers have the right to complete and conscious information". This was stated by Minister Teresa Bellanova, opening the bilateral meeting with the Minister of Agriculture of the Czech Republic Miroslav Toman, in the context of the talks over the past few weeks on the issue of nutritional labeling. In fact, on this issue, the Commission aims to present in 2022 a legislative proposal harmonized at EU level and mandatory.

"It is important that the Czech Republic shares our positions and that our representations in Brussels work closely together," said the minister, "an important fact also considering the EU Presidency that the Czech Republic will exercise in the second half of 2020, with the responsibility of managing the negotiated on the legislative proposal of the Commission ". The battery system, explained the minister, "is not penalizing, does not give good or bad licenses but is a result that values ​​the work of companies and the whole made in Italy".
