(ANSA) - SYDNEY, JUL 31 - The first results of humans from the Australian Covax 19 vaccine against the new coronavirus are positive. In phase 1 tests it has been shown to be safe and to generate an immune response. Developed by the Flinders University of Adelaide, it is the first of the developing vaccine candidates in Australia to pass phase 1 trials. The vaccine was administered this month to 40 volunteers, none of whom reported significant side effects or fever. The final results of the study, publication submissions, were communicated by NikolaiPetrovsky, director of Endocrinology at Flinders MedicalCentre. (HANDLE).
