Italy, according to the latest ENIT bulletin, seems to react better with tourism than other countries. In fact, despite the complex context, the sector is enjoying a period of holding especially in some localities.

The week of August 15th from August 10th to 16th promises well: Italy does better than Spain with 79% of the availability of online offers already "sold" while the Iberian country is at 72%. In Italy the major seaside destinations stand out: 80% in Rimini, 81% in Ravello, 86% in Cavallino-Treporti, 94% in Cilento and 98% in Salento are no longer available.

The Italian mountains also see destinations in the Alps no longer available 84% in competition with the French ones (87%).
At 30 July, the analysis of airport bookings from August to October in comparison with direct competitors Spain and France, still indicate a drop in bookings both in Italy and in the other countries analyzed, despite Italy in the summer months recover market space. Overall, between August and October there are 191 thousand 533 reservations for international airport passengers for Italy, 204 thousand 641 for Spain and 150 thousand 672 for France.

In economic terms, keeping Italy's total GDP constant in 2019, the comparison - emphasizes ENIT - indicates that the direct contribution of tourism to the Italian economy will decrease by -2.6 percentage points in 2020 compared to 2019 when it represented 5 , 7 of the gross domestic product. Therefore, the total contribution (which includes indirect and induced effects, as well as the direct impact) of the sector is expected to decrease by -5.8 percentage points, compared to 13% of GDP in 2019. As for direct impacts, the expected reduction for Italy is lower than in the other selected countries (-7.4% Spain on the 2019 value).
