The corona projector and head of the Magen LeIsrael program, Professor Roni Gamzo, today (Friday) called on the public to be patient and follow the guidelines of the Ministry of Health.

Gamzo's remarks: 

In recent days, I have received many inquiries and requests regarding changes in the outline of restrictions in the economy. These requests, for the most part, are correct and justified, based on the real distress into which citizens, the self-employed and business companies find themselves. I am attentive to all requests, study them in depth and carefully examine their meanings.

At the same time, the real desire to assist and carry out the necessary corrections and changes cannot be realized in the form of hasty and immediate decisions. The only way to provide a correct, professional and appropriate response to the Israeli public requires consideration, examination of alternatives and an orderly presentation of the decisions to the public, while fully transparent and explaining the meanings.

The limitations in the various areas of the economy do not reflect a series of needs and specific problems, but should express an overall strategy, which involves the mutual effects and all aspects derived from them, both on the health level, on the economic level and on the social level.

As I promised the public with the presentation of the Magen Israel program, we are working out of a desire to restore and strengthen public trust, and to implement a new contract between the government and the citizens. The way to do this is not to go through a series of hasty decisions and pulls from moment to moment.

I call on all of us to be patient, to work collaboratively and with discretion. I am convinced that only in this way will we be able to quickly embark on the king's path in the fight against the epidemic, give the entire public security and a horizon for a routine life, and ensure the return of economic and social security that the citizens of Israel expect.
