Several actors of the franchise are already engaged in other productions. Further delays in the filming schedule could cause them to leave the project prematurely.

" If the films are postponed longer , explains the actor, some members of the main cast will not be able to finish them because they are already engaged in other projects ." David Thewlis, just like Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver and Kate Winslet, have lead roles in the Avatar sequels . But such actors can not mobilize indefinitely for a single project, even if it is signed James Cameron.

Filming on the sequels resumed in June after the production was granted special permission to return to New Zealand. The scenario, which remains a mystery for the public, is also for the actors. " I don't know the story because you are not allowed to read the entire script, " said David Thewlis. This project does not work at all like my previous films. "

Seven postponements later, the director announced in July that the second film should be ready for release in December 2022 instead of 2021 because of the coronavirus. He also added that the other sequels will follow two years apart after that. If all goes well.
