(ANSA) - ROME, AUGUST 03 - Microsoft intends to continue negotiations with the Chinese ByteDance for the acquisition of TikTok in the USA. The announcement came after CEO Satya Nadella spoke to American President Donald Trump.
The number one of the hi-tech giant has made it known that he has reassured the tycoon, pledging to meet all his concerns. Concerns that had led the US president to curb the possible deal.
Microsoft therefore hoped that negotiations with ByteDance could be completed by September 15th. At stake is the lack of not only US operations of the popular app but also in Australia, New Zealand and Canada. With the purchase of TikTok, Microsoft would land for the first time in the social world and thus launch the challenge to Facebook and Google. (HANDLE).
