"We cannot tolerate irregular entry into Italy" and "we cannot allow the sacrifices" made by the country for the Covid crisis "to be nullified". This was said by Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte during the press point from Cerignola. "We need to step up returns," he added.

"We do not enter Italy in this way and especially in this moment of acute phase we cannot allow the international community to be exposed to further uncontrollable dangers. There are migrants who attempted to escape from health surveillance: we cannot afford it. We must be tough and inflexible, "said Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte.

"If there is one thing that we are not reproached for, it is having tackled the emergency by putting the protection of citizens' life and health first. Obviously we are very responsible. We cannot neglect and remain indifferent to the economic recession that "Italy, Europe and the whole world is facing. We are reconciling these interests. We know first of all what is there and why we recommend and will continue to recommend compliance with these minimum minimum precautionary rules".

"From now on the government will no longer tolerate that there is no double preference," said Conte a Cerignola again about the decree passed by the government to introduce double gender preference in the Apulian electoral law, after the council he had managed to pass a law. "There will be the conditions to go to vote - he added referring to the Apulian situation - We made a law decree to respect a principle. We left the regional autonomy to provide, unfortunately we had no signs in this sense indeed, at some point there was a clear declaration of acknowledgment that there was no possibility of reaching the affirmation of the principle and we have affirmed it with national law ".
