(ANSA) - MILAN, AUG 03 - Ubi Banca closes the first half-year with a profit of 184.3 million euro, an increase of 38.1% compared to the same period of 2019. In the second quarter, net profit was equal to 90.7 million, in line with 93.6 million in the first quarter of the year, despite the impact of the Covid19 lockdown on revenues and higher adjustments to loans.
    At the end of the conference call with financial analysts, Ubi Banca's CEO, Victor Massiah, announced that he will leave the company "tonight". The board of directors had issued a note stating that "while waiting for the regulation of the takeover bid, the directors of Ubi Banca express their intention to put their mandate back in the hands of the bidder and remain, if necessary, in office to ensure continuity operational and managerial as well as the correct administration of the Bank until the organ renewal meeting ".
