The Austrian tourist who had damaged Antonio Canova's "Paolina Borghese", kept in the Gipsoteca di Possagno (Treviso) to take a selfie, was identified and accepted his responsibility. To trace the identity of the man, a fifty year old, were the Carabinieri of the station of Pieve del Grappa (Treviso), who first examined the videos of the internal surveillance cameras, which immortalized all the phases of the damage. Around 12.30 on Saturday the man, who was part of a group of fellow tourists, was filmed while lying next to the statue, taking photographs. As he got up he had slipped, and realizing the damage he had gone away.
