Ellen DeGeneres became a trend after a series of accusations against her, and Portia de Rossi broke the silence to defend her.

The presenter Ellen DeGeneres has become a trend in recent days, after a series of accusations by some of its workers, who make it responsible for generating a toxic work environment.

Although his wife, the actress Portia de Rossi , with whom Ellen has been married since 2008, had kept out of this controversy, she finally broke the silence to publicly support her partner through the networks.

Portia wanted to thank the followers of both on Instagram, by posting an image with the caption, "I'm on Ellen's side," and along with the postcard wrote, "To our fans: we are seeing you. Thank you for your support. "

Apparently De Rossi is not the only one who supports the presenter, since the publication accumulates more than 93,000 likes and exceeds 10,000 comments.

Even some celebrities have also spoken out in favor of Ellen, such as singer Katy Perry , who expressed her position through her Twitter account.

"I know that I can only speak from my experience and not from that of other people, but I want to admit that I have only had positive conclusions from my time with Ellen and on the show," wrote the artist.

"I think we have all witnessed the light and the continuous fight for equality that she has brought to the world through her show for decades. I send you my love and a hug, friend," added the interpreter.

It should be noted that these posts come after an internal investigation into "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" was launched, amid accusations about the workplace environment.

In mid-July, BuzzFeed News released statements from current and former show members, alleging that they were subject to a "toxic work environment" on the show

Following these accusations, executive producers Ed Glavin , Mary Connelly and Andy Lassner , said in a statement to E! News that the claims were being taken "very seriously."

"The Ellen DeGeneres Show" has been suspended since April due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Back then, Variety magazine noted that the show's more than 30 employees did not receive any written communication from producers about their work hours, pay, or health inquiries for more than a month.

The team also learned that the producer had hired an outside technology company to help DeGeneres run the show from home. According to Variety's version , they also told employees to prepare for a 60% pay cut.

After this series of accusations, Ellen herself broke her silence to ask for forgiveness. In a letter to his employees that was accessed by US Weekly magazine , the television star confesses that he was not able to stay on top of everything, and that he trusted his team to do its job well, although, he points out, "clearly some did not. "

"On the first day of the show I told everyone that 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' would be a place of happiness: no one would raise their voices and everyone would be treated with respect. Obviously, something changed. And so, I'm sorry," he began, saying.

"Anyone who knows me knows that it is the opposite of what I expected this program to be," he added, in addition to promising that things would change, although he does not give more details, and assures that measures are being taken, without specifying which ones.
