The Ministry of Health confirmed this Wednesday 30 new deaths from coronavirus in Argentina in relation to the latest report, making 4,009 fatalities in the country due to the pandemic.
Among the new deceased, there are 16 men: 12 residents in the province of Buenos Aires, one in the City of Buenos Aires (CABA), one in Chaco, one in Santa Fe and one in Neuquén. 14 women also died: 12 who lived in the province of Buenos Aires, one in CABA and the other in Neuquén.
The average age of the deceased is 75 years old and the case fatality rate is 1.9%, while the mortality rate is 88 people per million inhabitants.
According to official figures, in Argentina there are 213,535 confirmed cases , of which 6,792 were confirmed in the last 24 hours. Of the total, 1,123 (0.5%) are imported, 59,408 (27.8%) are close contacts of confirmed cases, 119,544 (56%) are cases of community circulation, and the rest are under epidemiological investigation.
On the other hand, 1,207 people infected with Covid-19 are in intensive care , of which 81% correspond to units located in the City and Province of Buenos Aires.
The percentage of occupation of intensive care units at the national level, both for cases of coronavirus and other diseases, is 56.6%, while in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area it amounts to 66.4%.
The number of recovered from Covid-19 is 96,948 , which represents 45.4% of the total confirmed cases. This Tuesday there were 2,819 discharges.
Since the start of the pandemic, more than 442,881 cases of coronavirus in Argentina were ruled out through laboratory tests, which amount to 777,278, which represents 17,129 tests per million inhabitants, with a positivity rate of 32.58%.
Globally, the number of infected already exceeds 18,142.00 cases, of which 219,800 were identified in the last 24 hours. The death toll is 691,000 people, representing a case fatality of 3.8%.
In America there are 9,741,000 infected with coronavirus, which represents 53.7%. Argentina groups 2.1% of the total continental cases, Brazil, 28.1% and the United States, 47.7%. There are 365,334 deaths and the case fatality is 3.7%.
