In the health report of the City of Buenos Aires, the Health Minister, Fernán Quirós, announced that they are working on a different vaccination campaign this year, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"We know that everyone is cautious about leaving because we are asking them to stay at home, that is why we are preparing an intensive vaccination campaign, especially in the children's calendar," explained the head of the Buenos Aires Health portfolio and announced that "soon" they will be presenting the details "so that they can be vaccinated safely and can take the children with the peace of mind that there will be no risks ."

Asked about the record of cases registered on Tuesday throughout the country where the number of infected people was 6,792 in 24 hours, Quirós was cautious: “It is a disease that must be taken several days into consideration because it has peaks and valleys, on weekends it has a behavior and the beginning of the week others ”.

Regarding the epidemiological situation in the City of Buenos Aires, he assured: “We need to see how the curve behaves the next few days of the week. Last week the City had a small decrease in cases per day and we will see what happens this week. ”

And he announced: "Next week we will discuss the next stage."

Although anxiety and optimism about obtaining a coronavirus vaccine is a common denominator throughout the world, Quirós remarked that this will be "the final solution" although he considered that "it is a disease that has come to stay."

“They are viruses that have a certain level of mutation, so when we can control the virus in general terms, then we will have annual outbreaks related to winter like many other viruses, but it will no longer be a serious problem. That will happen throughout the next year , "he analyzed.

Regarding the role of public entities in this context, Quirós proposed "to develop a bridge and a way of living and suffering as little as possible from this pandemic until we have definitive solutions."

The Buenos Aires Health Minister also gave his opinion on the return of soccer training announced on Tuesday by the national government. He clarified that the City was not part of the discussions, that they are waiting for the protocols and that when the time comes they will see if they have something to contribute.

"In terms of practices and training we do not see it as a great risk because it is a small group, if they do it with the appropriate protocols," said Quirós.

As for sports in general, especially those of independent and non-group people such as golf and tennis who asked for his return, Quirós clarified that he was already included for the next stages of opening of the City.

"As soon as we are in a position to start phase 2, it will surely be a topic of debate and we will discuss how and when they will begin," he concluded.
