(ANSA) - TURIN, AUGUST 05 - Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte telephoned the policeman Vincenzo Tripodi, the agent who was on duty at the police headquarters in Turin on Sunday evening and who thwarted a violence against a woman, realizing that behind her unusual request - 'Good evening I would like to order a pizza' - there was actually a request for help. The policeman immediately activated the protocol envisaged in emergencies and thus allowed his colleagues to intervene in time.
During the call, Conte congratulated the 27-year-old agent from Reggio Calabria, inquiring about his job, his personal life and asking how he understood that there was a call for help behind the call.
"I reiterated the fact that the woman was talking to the police and she confirmed the request for pizza - Tripodi said to the Prime Minister - so I asked her if she was okay, she replied no. From these elements I understood that it was not a mistake".
Conte then thanked the agent, colleagues and the Turin office. "It is our duty to serve the citizens - Tripodi concluded - any colleague would have done the same". (HANDLE).
