It was said to be outdated, doomed to be replaced by smaller and mobile screens, abandoned in favor of Netflix and others. The confinement has, however, offered television a real comeback.
The French gathered in front of their post to get information, have fun, learn. In the first few weeks of confinement, they watched television 4:43 a day on average, up from 3:28 a year earlier, ending years of slow decline in time spent on the small screen.
