The Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin went in the morning to the Le Mans police station to pay tribute to the police officer who tragically died this Thursday morning.
Married and father of three daughters, the police officer had been working in Le Mans for 2 years, as a brigadier assigned to the intervention unit and night police-rescue. He was dragged by a drunk driver who refused to submit to the control of the police.
Deploring the attitude "of a part of the population who no longer wishes to respect the uniform of the Republic", Gerald Darmanin promised to "protect those who protect us".
