A discreet adaptation of sanitary rules in schools, so as not to hinder the resumption of lessons. As Le Monde revealed this Friday, it was on the sly that the Ministry of National Education put online, Wednesday and without advertising, a modified version of the health protocol applicable from the start of the school year in the face of the epidemic of Covid-19.

With a big relaxation, which goes in the direction of that desired in early July by the High Council of Public Health: this new protocol no longer proclaims an obligation of physical distancing in enclosed spaces, when it is "not materially possible or that it does not accommodate all of the students ”.

This includes classrooms, libraries and canteens. In all outdoor spaces, in particular the playground, this distance is no longer required, access to games and benches is therefore authorized.

This protocol also validates "the provision of shared objects within the same class or the same constituted group (balls, toys, books, games, newspapers, reusable leaflets, pencils, etc.)"

Always a mask for over 11s

"The measures to be taken require taking into account the specific context of each school or establishment", specifies the Ministry of National Education, which wants to move towards a relaxation of "rules relating to distancing and limitation of mixing" and sent this text to the academies on July 20. With a need to "maintain the greatest possible distance between the students" and to organize the different spaces as a function, he notes however.

The attention of the teaching staff should be particularly focused on the arrival and departure of children, during which it is necessary to "limit as much as possible the groupings of pupils and / or parents". Another novelty: the “restriction of mixing in school transport is no longer compulsory”.

Certain health measures do not change, such as the obligation, for pupils over 11 years of age, to wear a mask at school "in confined spaces, outdoors and when traveling", when "the distancing of one meter can not be guaranteed and that they are placed face to face or side by side ”.

When such proximity cannot be avoided, all teachers will also have to wear a mask, except kindergarten teachers who are now exempt, underlines the text. Finally, only teachers will be offered masks by the academy. The families of the pupils will have to obtain them by their own means.
