(ANSA) - ROME, AUGUST 07 - Researchers at the University of Washington have estimated that the death toll from coronavirus in the United States could reach almost 300,000 by the first of December (compared to the current 160,000), without the use of a mask.
"Wearing it as of today could save about 70,000 lives," according to new data from the Institute for Health Metricsand Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington School of Medicine, which develops this highly accredited model.
"Forecasts for the United States are 295,011 dead by December," says IHME in a statement. Director Christopher Murray warned: "This model should not become reality, the behavior of the population influences the transmission of the virus and the number of victims." (HANDLE).
